The Gift of Second

Jessica | October 30, 2016

We wanted to pass along information about a new book, written by a friend and fellow survivor, Brandy Lidbeck, founder of The Gift of Second.  Below is a brief description of the book, including a book trailer video and link to the book itself.

I set out to write the best possible resource for fellow survivors of suicide loss. It is such a unique grief, unlike any other form of death, and I wanted to personally speak to others on this same journey. This book is not my personal story, though there are some elements of it in there, Instead, the book touches on some of the more universal themes survivors face such as guilt, shame, and trauma. As a licensed therapist, I wanted to convey clinical information without all the professional jargon. Mostly, as a two-time survivor, I wanted to connect with the reader and empathize the struggles survivors face. I understand them fully. For the book, I interviewed hundreds of survivors and had them share their best advice and wisdom. My hope is that the reader walks away well informed in how to navigate life after a suicide as well as feeling hope and encouragement too.

sounds like something I need to read. I live in France and I’m not sure if it is availiable here. Where can I get an English version? My son died by suicide Nov 8th 2015. This is a very difficult moment for me. Some good reading would help maybe.
